Our residents used their senses by looking and smelling flowers whilst arranging them for our beautiful home today.
We got our thinking caps on this afternoon doing a quiz. We were very proud of how many we got right 🥰

Today we have started our pen pal letters to send to the local school. Weve had fun with puzzles, card games and dominos. The church visited this afternoon for our monthly service. A lovely day had by all 😀

It’s King Charles birthday on Saturday. So we relaxed and listened to him read the poem Fern Hill by Dylan Thomas this afternoon. Our residents really enjoyed it.

Our Burlingham bakers made a Ginger Cake this morning by request of one of our residents for tea time. It looks delicious. Some one to one time before lunch One of our residents was a school nurse, we read a poem about a school and she reminisced about her career. Our Bing Crosby fan enjoyed singing several of his songs.

My husband was a resident in Burlingham House for 2 months before he passed away. We were both well cared for I cannot praise the carers enough. When I visited they always greeted me by my Christian name. When he became quite frail I didn't want to leave him and in his last few days they arranged for me to stay near him. I was always looked after well. There were always lots of activities going on for the residents. We had a lovely Christmas Day dinner and Christmas party. Children from a nearby school came in to sing carols on one of the days leading up to Christmas. I cannot praise them enough, carers and managers.

My mum lives at Burlingham House and I live in the US. I cannot speak highly enough of the team of caregivers and the quality of service she receives. The communication is excellent and I always feel informed about what is happening with her care. On a recent visit, I was impressed to learn we could visit at any time. Every visit my Mum was well cared for, in clean clothing and engaged in great activities. Despite her advanced dementia, she is still able to bake and enjoy her time. Every staff member we encountered was caring and seemed to know Mum well as an individual. This is a caring, clean, person centered environment! The staff have a wonderful sense of humour and I really enjoyed my visits to Mum. It left me feeling peaceful knowing she is well cared for.

I can’t praise Burlingham House enough. The managers and all the staff are first class. They work as a team and are carers in the true sense of the word. As families, we are kept updated with our loved one's health, and the Facebook page is a real blessing in these troubled times. No matter who answers the phone, they always know what your relative has been up to and how they are. They involve residents in so much to keep them motivated each to their own ability. As a family, we are now content in the knowledge that my husband is happy after two previous failures! Lastly the food! Always looks beautifully presented and mealtimes are a joy. Keep up the good work, guys. You so deserve!
